Revelations 21:10-23 - And the Lamb is its Lamp
This week, Lord & Savior Ev. Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake is switching to its summer schedule: services at 7:00pm on Thursday evenings and 9:00am on Sunday mornings. Services for the Memorial Day weekend will be held on May 23rd and May 26th. For both services, Pastor David Carlovsky will preach on Revelation 21:10-14, 22-23. In God's vision to Saint John, we note that we depend on LIGHT. The sermon theme will be the last phrase of the text: "AND THE LAMB IS ITS LAMP!” The sermon will have three sections, discussing Jesus Christ, the Lamb, as Gate, Foundation, and Lamp.
Matthew 28:20 - He’ll be there for you through all the storms
The following week, the congregation will include Lord and Savior Lutheran School's graduation and awards ceremony as part of the Thursday night service (on May 30th). Our 8th grade graduates are Joey Ray, Maddy Gutzmer, and Isabelle Gregory. Our kindergarteners graduates are Lydia Behrens and Chloe Hunt. For that Graduation service, the children from Kindergarten through 8th grade will be singing two songs: "Teach Me Your Way" and "May the Peace of God.” For the Graduation message Pastor Carlovsky will use the text of Jesus calming the storm (Mark 4:35-41). Because it's also Ascension Day (and our school's theme for the year was "I AM") the sermon text will also include words spoken by Christ at His Ascension... "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20).
The sermon theme will be: "HE'LL BE THERE FOR YOU THROUGH ALL THE STORMS"
John 17:20-26 - Christ Prayed for Us!
That Sunday, June 2nd, the congregation will hold a Teacher Appreciation gathering/brunch after church. Pastor Carlovsky’s message will use the Gospel lesson for that Sunday, which describes how we are blessed that Jesus prayed/prays for us.
This is the theme and division of thought: "CHRIST PRAYED FOR US!”
That we may be one!
That we may be glorious!
